The R500 was supplied without windscreen, heating or doors to discharge any unnecessary grams. The interior is fully bare stripped and equipped with carbon fiber Tillett bucket seats, a Stack instrument panel and keyless start button. Due to the extremely direct steering, the low center of gravity and the adjustable Bilstein silencers, the car performs on the circuit at the level of modern supercars.
The car gained worldwide fame when he was named 'Car of the Year 2008' by the TV show Top Gear after putting a stunning time on their test circuit at the time. Recently, the car has also been added to racing games such as Gran Turismo 7.
