This is a used car without box.
The Scale Car Ford Capri Turbo RS #37 is a popular and high-quality slotcar (race track car) at scale 1:32 of the well-known slotcar brand Scaleauto. This miniature is an imitation of the legendary Group 5 Pocket Speed Ford Capri Turbo that made a furore in the prestigious Deutsche Rennsport Meisterschaft (DRM) in the late 70’s and early 80’s.
Key Features & Specifications
Brand & Model: Scaleauto Ford Capri Turbo Gr.5 (sometimes referred to as RS or Zakspeed).
Start number: #37.
Scale: 1:32 (suitable for racetracks of a.o. Carrera, Scalextric and Ninco).
Chassis options: Depending on the specific release (Homeseries or R-Version), the car is equipped with a standard one-piece chassis or an advanced In-Flex chassis with an independent engine mount for professional performance.
Drive: Usually equipped with a powerful short-can motor in a Sidewinder or Anglewinder setup, equipped with aluminum rear rims and calibrated shafts for optimal grip and speed.
Historical Car Background
The real model behind this miniature is the iconic wide-ranging Zakspeed Ford Capri. This car had an extremely aerodynamic body of carbon fiber and Kevlar in real life, weighed only about 790 to 850 kg and was powered by a 1.4-liter four-cylinder turbo engine that produced up to 400 to 600 hp via extreme turbo pressure. It was one of the few cars at the time that the dominant Porsches 935 could put the fire closely to the shins in the Division 2 of the DRM championship.
Why this slotcar is loved
Detailed Body: Scaleauto is known for the sharp tampon print (printing) of the sponsors and the faithful, aggressive wheel arches of the original.
High Speed on the Track: Thanks to the wide track width behind, the Capri naturally has a fantastic handling in the corners, making it a favourite among both home racers and club competitions
