The Fly Ford GT40 #20 "Tergal" (reference number A181 or 88046) is a popular 1:32 analog slot car produced by the manufacturer Fly Car Model. The model is based on the real racing car that belonged to the legendary Spanish team Escudería Montjuich.

Historical Background

Event: The model replicates the car that participated in the 6 Horas del Jarama on October 26, 1969 at the Circuito del Jarama in Spain.
Drivers: The car was driven by the Spaniard José Juncadella and the Brit Gordon Spice.
Performance: The duo qualified 4th and finished the race in impressive 3rd place overall.
Livery: The car is immediately recognizable by its bright red paint with contrasting yellow lettering from the main sponsor Tergal (a then well-known French manufacturer of polyester fabrics).

Technical Specifications (Slot Car)
According to modelling specialists such as Electric Dreams, this specific Fly version has the following characteristics:

Scale: 1:32
Drive: Sidewinder configuration (transverse motor) with an 11-tooth pinion and a 36-tooth gear.
Engine: Short Can engine that delivers 18,000 RPM.
Magnet: Standard equipped with a removable neodymium magnet for extra handling.
Compatibility: This analog model is directly ready for driving for almost all known 1:32 tracks such as Scalextric, Carrera, Ninco and SCX. The vehicle can also be made digitally with a Scalextric chip (C7005).

Availability & Collector Value
Because the model has been out of production for some time (New Old Stock of Out of Print), it has become a beloved collectible.
