Availability & Value

This model is a popular collector's item and is no longer newly produced by Carrera.

The real Ferrari 250 GT SWB (Short Wheelbase) Berlinetta is an absolute legend and is seen by car enthusiasts worldwide as one of the most beautiful and important sports cars ever made.
Ferrari introduced the car at the Paris Motor Show in late 1959. The letters SWB stand for Short Wheelbase (in Italian Passo Corto), because Ferrari had shortened the

What makes the real car so special?

The legendary engine: Under the hood is the famous 3.0-litre Colombo V12 engine. This produces a breathtaking sound and delivers, depending on the version, between 240 and 280 hp.

Street and circuit: The car was unique because it was built in two versions. The Competizione had a feather-light body of aluminum for racing. The Lusso (the street version, on which your Carrera model is based) had a steel body and a more comfortable leather finished interior. You could literally ride it to the track, win the race, and drive it home again.

First for Ferrari: It was Ferrari's first GT production car to be equipped with disc brakes on all four wheels as standard.

Extremely rare: Between 1959 and 1962, only 165 pieces were built.

Priceless
Because the car is so rare and iconic, the value is huge. Where the Carrera racetrack car costs around €200, a real Ferrari 250 GT SWB at exclusive auctions (as with RM Sotheby's) nowadays effortlessly raises between 7 and 10 million euros.
